Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights<\/span><\/span> has sent an urgent appeal to the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today, Thursday, May 14, 2026, Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights<\/span><\/span> submitted an urgent appeal to the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances, calling for immediate and urgent intervention to reveal the fate of the forcibly disappeared citizen, Mr. Mohammed Hossam Salah El-Din Dababsh.<\/p>\n

According to the follow-up conducted by Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights<\/span><\/span>, on February 15, 2024, Mr. Dababsh was arrested by Israeli occupation forces from inside Nasser Hospital<\/span><\/span>. Since that date, all contact with him has been completely lost, and his family has been unable to determine his place of detention or communicate with him. Israeli authorities have either denied holding him or refrained from providing any information regarding his fate.<\/p>\n

One of his relatives, who was present with him at the moment of arrest, stated that Israeli occupation forces stormed Nasser Hospital<\/span><\/span> in the Gaza Strip and forced displaced civilians to exit through an electronic checkpoint. After gathering the civilians, soldiers began calling certain individuals by their names. Mr. Dababsh was singled out, separated from the group, handcuffed, and blindfolded. Since that moment, no information has been available regarding his fate.<\/p>\n

Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights<\/span><\/span> has contacted the official Israeli authorities, which confirmed that the aforementioned individual had been arrested by the Israeli army. The organization was also informed that he had been released on May 25, 2024. However, as of the date of issuing this appeal, his fate and whereabouts remain unknown, raising serious concerns for his life and physical and psychological safety.<\/p>\n

The submission of this urgent appeal by Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights<\/span><\/span> comes in order to place the international community before its legal and humanitarian responsibilities to protect the civilian population and to pressure the occupation forces to comply with international conventions.<\/p>\n
