Al-Dameer Participates in Children’s Solidarity Stand Calling for an End to the War and the Starvation Policy Against Them
This morning, Monday, 25 August 2025, Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights participated in a solidarity stand organized by children in the courtyard of the Media Solidarity Center in Gaza City, to demand an end to the war and the ongoing violations against children in the Gaza Strip.
During the stand, the children held signs with powerful messages, including:
“Stop Killing Children”,
“Children in Gaza Are Dying of Hunger”,
“Stop the Genocide… Save Childhood”, and
“Gaza’s Children Are Not Numbers” – reflecting their deep suffering under the ongoing military escalation.
In its intervention during the event, Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights emphasized that what children in Gaza are enduring is not merely a humanitarian crisis but a continuing crime committed against childhood and innocence. It is a crime documented by images, testimonies, and tears that have not dried for years. The organization stressed that Gaza’s children are experiencing a compound humanitarian catastrophe as a result of over 18 years of blockade and repeated military assaults – which have turned schools into shelters, homes into rubble, and dreams into bullets.
A young girl representing the children delivered a heartfelt speech during the event, saying:
“Thousands of us have been killed in this brutal war. We lost our homes, our schools, our dreams – even our toys. We are not asking for much – we only ask to live like other children around the world: in peace and safety.”
During the solidarity stand, the children delivered a written message addressed to Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights in Gaza, asking the organization to convey their suffering and tragic reality to the international community, the United Nations, child rights organizations, the Human Rights Council, and the world at large – urging them to fulfill their humanitarian and legal responsibilities, and to immediately intervene to stop the war and genocide being committed against the children of Gaza.
This event comes amid growing international concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, where children are the most affected by the ongoing conflict – whether through the loss of their family members, injuries, or forced displacement from their homes.
The stand concluded with a call from the children for international protection, demanding an immediate end to the war and real steps toward safeguarding the rights and lives of children.
