Al Dameer: Conducts Field Visit to Deir al-Balah Rehabilitation and Reform Center to Assess Detainees Conditions
The Al Dameer Association for Human Rights – Gaza conducted a field visit yesterday, July 21, 2026, to the Rehabilitation and Reform Center in Deir al-Balah, aimed at assessing the conditions of detainees and their circumstances of detention. The visit forms part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to monitor conditions in reform and rehabilitation centers and ensure their alignment with national laws, regulations, and human rights standards.
The visit included a meeting with the director of the Rehabilitation and Reform Center, followed by an inspection tour of the center’s rooms and meetings with detainees. During these meetings, the delegation reviewed the detainees’ legal and living conditions and discussed the extent to which their guaranteed rights are being upheld in accordance with legal and humanitarian standards.
The Al Dameer delegation also discussed a number of issues related to the detainees’ conditions with the center’s administration. At the conclusion of the visit, both Al Dameer and the center’s administration affirmed the importance of strengthening efforts to improve the center’s facilities and provide detainees with their basic needs, in a manner that ensures respect for their human dignity and improves their conditions of detention.
